| Happy New Year to all. Hope you had a wonderful and safe holiday season.
| We ended the year with our annual Christmas party which was, again, held at the Empress Pavilion Restaurant in Chinatown. Dore Wong took over the reins from Steve and Jean Lee, who continued to lend their support, and provided us with a beautiful and fun-filled event including a chance to win one of the exquisite ceramic cookie jar table centerpieces.
There were dozens of great door prizes as well as terrific raffle prizes including a Taylor Made driver and a Callaway driver which was donated by Don Crocker of L.A. Royal Vista. Dore had a host of helpers which included Bill and Helen Tom, Nancy Choy, Elza and Eddie Lee, Amy Luo, Tony Hsieh, Joe Loy, Kellogg Chan, Dave Thom and, of course, Santa Claus aka John Wong.
| Dozens of golf balls were distributed to many Club members for their significant achievements over the year and the top money winner was Tony Chau who took home over $350 for his superb play. The Club distributed over $6,300 during the year to our members for our monthly and special tournaments; naturally, this excludes our away tournaments such as Benson Fong and Las Vegas.
Many members were able to come in the money, even if it was a "very small" amount, such as John Wong's whopping $1.09. Hey John, it's the participation and attitude that counts!
| Congratulations to Club Champion Allen Mar; Bing Wong for overall low net; Lu Thom for women's overall low net; and Steve Chuey for most improved player.

| We will be celebrating Chinese New Year's on January 27th, so be sure and come out to play and bring a small exchange gift.
| The annual Benson Fong Tournament will be held in Oxnard. We'll be playing at River Ridge and Olivas Park golf courses, and staying at La Quinta in Ventura. You should have received the entry form, so please fill it out and return ASAP so we can get an accurate count.
| We're continuing to look for ways to encourage you to come out and play on a regular basis. The course has rebuilt and reshaped (2) new greens on holes #3 and #6 with plans for additional improvements this year.
| The 2002 Schedule has been updated on the website. We have booked a few new courses to try which include The Links at Victoria in Carson, Brookside in Pasadena, Santa Anita in Arcadia, and Mountain Meadows in Pomona.
To make it interesting, we will be holding (3) of our monthly tournaments at away games. We've also scheduled some new scramble and partner tournaments which should be very entertaining. We hope each of you will enjoy what's planned and will participate, not only in the golf, but the continued camaraderie and friendship that are such a vital part of our Club.
| In addition to the 2002 Schedule, enclosed are the November and December monthly tournament results and results for our recent aggregate tournament, and an updated roster. Please let us know if there are any changes or corrections to the roster.
| Your continued suggestions and comments are always welcomed and can be directed to any Board Member or Officer.
