| Hope you all had a great summer. The days are getting shorter but there is still plenty of time for "The Game."
| Those who attended the San Francisco Tournament held in Monterey had a great time. Players started at both the first and tenth holes which sped up play, so all players finished in the light and rounds were much shorter than the last tournament. L.A. came through, as usual, with a round of winners.
For starters, our team of Dave Davis, Steve Chuey, Winston Young and Victor Wong won second place for the team match. The team match format was three best balls per four-man team with the best score totaling 200 net with handicap on a par 71 course.
| In individual play, Steve Chuey won 2nd low net for Championship Flight, Bob Wong won 1st low gross for Executive Flight, Joanne Young won 3rd low net for Second Women's Flight, and new member, Amy Luo won 1st low net in the First Women's flight. Congratulations!!
| Los Angeles was also well represented at the Senior's Tournament in Reno, held by the Federation. Of the fourteen participants, L.A. had 7 winners! All places were net scores. Winners included:
| A Flight:
B Flight:

| We understand the two courses played were very difficult with plenty of barrancas and lightening fast greens. The Basque food and complimentary breakfasts were winners. Congratulations and great shooting, Seniors!
| We hope many of you will be able to participate in the upcoming CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP on September 23 and 30th. A General Meeting will be held after golf on September 30th.
| Everyone should have received the invitation to the Annual LACGC's Las Vegas getaway, November 1-4. Please return your applications NOW to Allen Mar. It's important that everyone turns in an application as soon as possible to assist Allen in meeting his deadlines.
| Mark your calendars for the Club's December 8 Christmas Party which will include a gift exchange.
| Bill Tom is working on the Benson Fong Tournament which will be held March 2-3, 2002. A 9:00 a.m. starting time at River Ridge has been confirmed, and play at Olivas Park is being investigated. Details will follow soon.
| Attached are the results from the recent monthly tournaments, May through September.
| We would like to welcome new members to the Club, Amy Luo, Darren Jung, Julia Fan and Steve Vines who transferred from the Sacramento Club. Glad to have you join us!
| In the past, we have mentioned that there have been a diminishing number of players coming out on Sundays. With that in mind, Tony Chau and Jean Lee are putting together a survey to obtain your input as to how we can encourage play and make your experience enjoyable and fun. Look for it soon. Your candid input is very important and will be greatly appreciated.
| As always, your suggestions or comments are welcome and can be directed to any Board Member or Officer.
