| Congratulations to all who participated in the Memorial Day Tournament and made it such a great success, committee members as well as players and guests.
| The weather held out, keeping things cool and comfortable at both Los Serranos and LA Royal Vista courses. Although a number of trees were cut down at Los Serranos, the course was as challenging as ever.
| Special thanks to the committee members whose time and efforts ensured a well-attended and successful event. Dave Davis and Steve Chuey, co-chairs, were instrumental in organizing and running the tournament together with their committees which included:

Many thanks also to Dore Wong for arranging for the golf shirts, Steve Lee and Dave Thom for the tee prizes, Watson Lum for providing the ornamental bowls and serving pieces to compliment the trophies and Dave Thom, Ed Lum, Ed Wong, Greg Chau, Kellogg Chan and Steve Lee for tallying the scores.

| Congratulations to all for playing great golf, and especially to Dave Davis who was able to run a terrific tournament while keeping his concentration and focus intact to bring home the Field Low Gross award. Quite an accomplishment, Dave!
| In late March, the Club held it's annual Benson Fong Memorial Golf Tournament in Laughlin, Nevada, playing at the Mojave Resort Golf Club and Desert Lakes. Although the field was fairly small, 36 players, it was great fun and very challenging. In announcing the winners at the banquet dinner (which was quite good) held at the Edgewater, Tony Chau let us all save face by refusing to announce the scores; they were really awful! Shock and wonderment were expressed during the entire reading of the results when all you could hear from the crowd was "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING; I WON?????" Winners included:

Congratulations, as well, to Lippen and Cindy Lau on the marriage of their son, Sean. Sean has chosen a career in the Navy and will be spending the next 3 years in Italy with his new bride.
| While kudos are in the offering, I would like to extend a VERY BELATED congratulations to Elza Lee for her outstanding performance in last year's Senior's Sacramento Tournament where she won low net over both the women AND men's fields. Keep up the good work!

| As a reminder, we encourage all of you to use the LACGC website to keep informed as to club news/events. In case you are not aware, there is not an auto-link between the Club website and the tournament chairman. If you wish to contact Dave Davis, you can reach him at davisjmj@hotmail.com. Be sure and let him know by Wednesday if you plan to play the following Sunday or if you have any changes. He needs the lead-time to set up the schedule. If you contact him late in the week, you will most likely play in the last group.
